Taking photos from one location and having them upload to a computer or iPad across the room in real time - what's the best way to achieve this?

I don't have any particular experience with this technique but a bit of googling around landed me on these two links

http://nikonrumors.c...r-cameras.aspx/

http://www.tethertoo...ng-in/software/

by the looks of it it seems an impressive and time saving technique but I honestly have doubts over the quality of videos shot this way because a real time codec usually will run on run time encoding for compression and decompression and that is not exactly a quality-genic encoding technique as far as I have studied.

I may be wrong but If I understood the technique correctly then there could be a marked difference in file size and quality of a tethered video and one that is stored in traditional way.

Though I would like to learn more on it from someone who has some experience with it.
