From looking on the internet, there are lots of clubs to join relating to Photography. The main aim is to showcase your new skills and meet up each week to discuss techniques etc.

A few years ago I entered into a few photography competitions online. The community felt a bit like a photographer's club because the community voted for their favorites and commented on each other's photos so we could improve, and the winners earned prizes.

It would be fun if Low ISO became something like that community was.

It could be a cool idea if we could sponsor some photography clubs in some areas, it would be a great way to get the word out about LowISO.

Being a website the audience base for our site will be global so finding a club and sponsoring it would be quite a low key for us I think.

Rather I suggest we make use of the social networking and make a group of our own attracting global audience and that way spreading this community to even wider areas than we can if we concentrate geographically. A facebook page can be a good beginning page to start.

Also I think that in future when our community goes big enough we should hold a contest where the winning or rather selected entrants will be asked to display their photos in an exhibition of sorts.

I think there was an idea for a contest before to really kick-off the site but it failed because nobody got engaged with it. If money will be spent on prizes I feel like it's important to get more members here first.

It's hard to attract people to social media profiles for a startup community because there's no incentive for them to follow us. I think that traditionally forums have always built up a subscriber base first and they've then taken that to social media profiles to better engage users.

Leveraging social media for LowISO would be awesome but I don't think it can be done without significant monetary investments.

I have never seen a camera club in my country ( Greece ). I don't think that we have because not many people are so interested in photography. I usually participate in some professional blogs who upload many beautiful pictures and I like taking part in contests about photography. I will try to ask the Municipality in order to see if there is any club or any organization, but I don't think that Greek people enjoy taking professional photos.

We have a photography club in college, and it is really good as, we can choose between digital, or film. And we have a dark room as well, and because it is college funded there is some really good equipment and saves us from buying it ourselves.

I developed in a dark room once, it really stinks in there and my photos didn't turn out as nice as I had hoped, but it was a fun experience!

How does funding at your college work? At my university each club can get up to $5,000 per year, but it's split into categories (up to a certain amount for advertising, a certain amount for food, etc.) so a small club can't build a developing room.
